Cardiff Swiss Club (includes Newport & Bridgend)

The Cardiff Swiss Club was created in March 2007 after a first meeting and social get together for the Swiss in Cardiff & Newport at the new Swiss Consulate address in Cardiff.

The 30 Swiss who attended this meeting agreed on wishing to set up an informal Club (no formal constitution and joining fee) and to meet at least twice a year in early December for a Christmas event (eg Fondue/Raclette evening) and a summer event (eg a garden party)

The Cardiff organising team also supports the Cardiff events organised by the Honorary Consul. This has included giving support at the Swiss Ambassador's Awards concerts which took place in the city at the National Museum of Wales in 2008 & 2009 in the presence of the Ambassador. The Cardiff Swiss have also supported various concerts organised by the Consulate in Cardiff with Swiss musicians living in Cardiff and Swiss music students at the RWCMD. These concerts usually take place at the Mansion House in the presence of the Lord Mayor and are in association with the German & French societies in Cardiff. The evening usually raises funds for the Lord Mayor's charity in recognition of the Lord Mayor's support for international societies in Cardiff.
