Thank you to all who offered hospitality and who contributed to four successful National Day events in Wales

In his first official media engagement since taking up his post in August, the new Swiss Ambassador to the United Kingdom Anton Thalmann gave an interview to World Radio Switzerland from his office in London. Mr. Thalmann, who has previously served as Ambassador to Belgium and Canada, stressed the continuing significance of the Swiss-UK relationship and the important work being carried out by both governments in the field of financial services and international cooperation. He also offered personal insights into the daily routine of ambassadorial life.

However, in the meantime Costa Rica beat Switzerland 1-0 in a friendly game ahead of the World Cup in South Africa which means that the match against Honduras (Honduras eliminated Costa Rica in the WC qualification) will also be a challenge. The Swiss last test match before flying off to South Africa was on Saturday 5th June in Geneva against Italy. It finished with a draw. click here

The Swiss in Wales now have their own social platform where they can exchange news, photos etc. with each other, their friends & family wherever they might be. Unlike Facebook it is a totally private site, (cannot be googled) open only to signed up and approved members. To join the site you need to receive an invitation link. The South Wales Swiss Society together with the German & French Societies in Cardiff organised two concerts recently at the Mansion House in Cardiff with our two Swiss violinist students and other musicians and raised a total of £ 450.- for Bobath Children Therapy Centre in Cardiff.

OSA-Info is sent in German or French to Swiss clubs, societies and official representations over the world. 6 times a year, it informs by e-mail on OSA activities and on news that are relevant for the public of the Fifth Switzerland. Info5 is sent in German or French to the Swiss media and institutions. 6 times a year, it informs them by e-mail about news from the Fifth Switzerland.

With these two newsletters, the OSA leads a communication especially shaped for its varied publics. Its aim is therefore to inform the Fifth Switzerland through OSA-Info, but also to assure, through Info5, that the Fifth Switzerland be represented in all the fields that make the public opinion in Switzerland.
